summary: Mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) with unique structure were synthesized under mild conditions by a facile two-step method in the presence of ethyl ether. Ibuprofen as a common anti-inflammatory and analgesic drug was used to evaluate the MSNs' controlled drug release properties. The results indicated that the prepared MSNs exhibited a large loading content and excellent release rate, attaining as high as 96.3% drug release in 3 h.
